Children left in control of  spaceship have to step up to the mark. Brilliant KS2 sci-fi!

A great book with twists and turns and plenty of surprises. You might think you know where the story is going (I did) but you'll probably be wrong!

Beth and her friends are a good mix of characters and it should appeal to boys and girls alike. A very solid 4.5 stars.

This was such a sweet book. I'd kind of been feeling a sci-fi read, but wasn't ready for something super involving. Since Orion Lost had featured in Waterstones newsletters several times, I picked this up when I was last in the shop. And I'm very pleased that I did.

It was good to read a kids' sci-fi that had a strong female lead, with good character development all across the board. I enjoyed Beth's journey, both in the personal growth aspect and the intricate plot development that kept you guessing.

Very well written, strongly recommended.

Although this is a children's book it's still worth a read if you like space travel stories. The children have good full characterisation and the plot holds up well. If you are looking for factual realism it's here mildly but not hyper realistic.

I actually really enjoyed this and would read a sequel for sure. It was well put together with lots of detail. I especially liked Ship and it's 'personality', even though it wasn't meant to have one it came over clearly.

It's a rare find - a sci-fi book aimed at 9-12's but this one is a treasure.
Beth & her family are on a ship destined for a new colony, when there is an 'event' and 13 yr old Beth finds herself in charge. Ships records are damaged & things are not what they seem. As Beth & her friends try to repair the ship to navigate home they find someone has been lying to them. But who can they trust?
Great plot, great characters, positive messages exciting & funny.
A seriously good read.
