wish i could give this a 4.9 bc that’s how i feel overall, but this story moved me to tears multiple times and i loved and rooted for the characters deeply. love the themes of science vs. religion throughout, and the many threads that all come together at the end.

I really liked this book, and if I could give it 4.5 stars, I would. It was all the rage when I first heard about it, and then I started seeing more "just couldn't get into it" reviews and thought, "uh-oh - this may not be the read I'm hoping for." I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised!

Lessons in Chemistry is quirky - no doubt. But I think people who liked Where'd You Go Bernadette, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine or most of Fredrik Backman's books will love this as I did.
