WOW, this series is getting better and better!!! I just love the relationship Cady has with both Lon and Jupe. The ending has me so excited, I WANT THE NEXT BOOK NOW! I don't think I can wait a whole year (May, 2014). This series is definitely in my top 5. I want to thank Jenn Bennett for writing such an amazing series that has not one dull moment.

Arcadia is developing her new moon child abilities and they are getting really striking. Lon's inlaws are actually very interesting charecters whom i was glad to meet with at last. His exwife appeared to be not a monster but a very broken person with somewhat twisted way of thinking. All in all, though it was not as awesome as Kate Daniels, I think it was worth reading.

SO. FREAKING. AWESOME !!!! I am at lost for words.
I fell in love with the Arcadia Bell series in January when I first read the first book (book I had with me for a year I think and never picked up - what a shame)

This story is truly perfect : unique magic system, friendship, family dynamic you will just fell in love with, amazing MC (she is fierce, sure of herself, she doubts, she makes mistakes, she loves, she hurts, she keeps going, she is not whinny I love her), the love interest is Arrgghhhhh just <3, their chemistry and history is believable and it's everything I need really.

Don't forget it's action packed and you don't get bored once.

I predicted a lot of what will happened in this book, because those were thing I WANTED to happened and boy did they happened !!!!

I am so glad I stumbled into this series, I know the year is only beginning but it's a no brainer that Arcadia Bell is becoming one of my favorite series of all time.

Another slam dunk for author Jenn Bennett and her Arcadia Bell Series. The characters make the series for me and every installment with Cady, Lon, Jupe, and Kar Yee makes me love the series even more.

So much happens in BINDING THE SHADOWS I'm not sure where to start. Ok lets talk about Cady and Lon. LOVE them. Each book pulls them closer together and in BINDING THE SHADOWS you continue to see their devotion to each other grow. Jupe is a huge pot of pure entertainment. His innocence and sense of humor never ceases to amaze me. There is nothing like meeting the ex wife's family and I have to say I enjoyed it. They all share a mutual hate for the ex and it was nice seeing them bond over that even though there were some ups and downs. Yvonne you ask? She makes an appearance and I wanted to punch her teeth out. Cady really shows how much of a mother she has become to Jupe.

I do not want to say too much about the plot because it would be full of spoilers but we get to witness the return of past character, both allies and enemies. We get to see Cady in action. We witness Cady sticking up for herself and those she loves. We watch Cady reveal her true self to Kar Yee and it does not go well. There is humor, heartache, joy, pain, action and entertainment for everyone.

The ending is best described in the email that I sent Jenn the moment I finished BINDING THE SHADOWS (has been slightly edited, please excuse the screaming ). SERIOUSLY?? What kind of horrific ending is that??!?!?!? I'm devastated, DEVASTATED I tell you. And I have to wait a WHOLE YEAR to find out? Wow evil I tell you, evil.

Loved it. But your still evil Jenn ;)

All I can said is....what a ride... what an emotional roller coaster ride! The book start with a BANG and end with a BOOM. Warning first, its kinda end in cliffhanger of sort and this book can't be read as stand alone. Better to start with the first book, Kindling the Moon.

CW/TW first, contain very detailed graphic violence. Your mileage may varies, but consider I've warned you :P.

What I said with the book start with a bang, it's quite literal. Something malice make Earthbounds demon's knack (aka supernatural ability) amped up, and its come to Arcadia "Cady" Bell, sassy magician, and her Earthbound boyfriend, Lon Butler to solve it. But what make Binding the Shadow for me is way way better compared to the two previous installation is I feel that Bennett already find her writing tempo and ho boy, she didn't give Cady a rest. Problem after problem come to our girl, it make me feel almost sorry for her. But, despite all her predicaments, Cady still going forward. Sure she have her mental breakdown, but I like that its make her feel humane. I mean, you can't go all badass and asskickin' everyone. Human have limits, and so do Cady. Cady is not sure of what she is -with her Moonchild ability- and to add cherry on top of her problem her mothers might be alive and want to continue her megalomaniac plot.

The family drama with Lon's in laws might be too drama for some, but I quite surprised to see that I kinda enjoyed it. It's not that I liked to see Cady squirming when she met Lon's mother in laws from his previous marriage with his ex, Yvonne, but what I like is the dynamic. Rose sure can be intimidating, but I'm glad her other daughter, Adella is very welcome to Cady. In the end, the in laws come to Cady side and they know that Yvonne is beyond saving. Poor Jupe, though. He's still hyper and motormouth, but it's apparent he want his mother to back to him. Bennett show that sometimes it's us who choose what kinda of people that we want as a family and Jupe clearly want Cady to be his family.

I won't tired to said that I really loved Cady-Lon relationship. You can said Lon is quite a "catch" for Cady. He's hot for a 40 something guy (despite his pirate mustache, heh), successful photographer and have a knack that come in handy. But what make me like him is, he's so supportive of Cady. Sure he grunt, angry when Cady seems to danger herself again, but he support her. I like that even Cady is a UF heroine protag, she didn't push Lon and go "nah, I can solve everything. By myself." She let Lon help her, and she help him back. A very healthy and sexy romantic relationship is what I loved the most and Bennett sure can deliver.

Like I said with the book end with a boom, yep, Binding the Shadows have cliffhanger. This book also have one petpeeve of mine with Spoiler despite all the danger, Cady find herself...pregnant. Huff, sometimes I don't get the pregnant thingie. To make the problem worse? LOL , but this is one pet peeve that I willing to let it pass. The mystery of the substance that make demon's knack amped up might not be too mysterious, since the plus point of this book is how Cady's relationship with people around her work. Also, did I mention that Priya is back. And he's a boy. Also snarky. I like this version of Priya though, lol.

With the end left hanging like that, of course I will proceed into book 4. Good thing, I already have my copy ;).

All I have to say is Jenn Bennett is freaking insane! Oh, my god! BINDING THE SHADOWS is one of those books where you go excited to mental meltdown! It is so good and engaging and I am loving every new book in the Arcadia Bell Series.

Cady and Lon are together and strong as ever and happy with Jupe! In BINDING THE SHADOWS, there is quite a lot going on in Cady's life right now. We have a mystery to solve as usual, plus Lon's ex's mother and sister come to town to visit and she has to show them that she belongs with Lon and Jupe and Cady is seeing her mom's ghost? I'll stop there! Just lots of drama going on in Cady's life right now, but I'm loving every minute!

I gotta tell you, the ending I didn't expect at all! Came out of nowhere. It's like a three part ending. I cursed and hit things a lot after I finished it and am still suffering major withdrawals. Just hurry and release the fourth Arcadia Bell book already!
