As with all the rest of the southern series this one doesn't disappoint. I loved Reed and Hazel and adored Sofia. When Reed came back from active service i did expect to read more about his injury but it seemed to be almost forgotten as soon as it was mentioned and feel that the story could have included this more. Saying that though it certainly doesn't detract from the story and it certainly didn't hinder him in the bedroom. Fantastic story which included everyone from the series, which i love.

When I tell you that Reed is EVERYTHING you could ever want...he's everything you could ever want. Southern Sunshine gave me feels I didn't realize I could have. A beautiful love story with its own heartfelt moments.

Each book in the Southern Series is filled with feels, swoon, varying forms of healing, and the quintessential small town family, but never more so than in the pages of Southern Sunshine.

My heart wasn’t prepared for tears that were brought on by the unconditional love and unwavering support in this family. The deep love of this family has been a large part of each book, but Reed and Hazel’s story brought all of those aspects up several degrees.

If you’ve read the previous books you know that there was something happening between Reed and Hazel, my curiosity had been piqued and I couldn’t wait to dive into this .

Hazel moved away, only keeping in contact with her grandfather, but now it’s 6 years later, she’s back in town with a little girl by her side. I adored Hazel, she was sweet, strong, and determined.

Reed was back home for the first time in years, he ran off to the military and in doing so he may have found parts of himself, but he also lost bits of his soul along the way, never even realizing it, until he’s face to face with the woman from his past.

Reed and Hazel’s “re-meet-cute” is more of a “re-door slam” not quite cute, but it made me giggle, and in that time you can feel the chemistry between them.

Reed put the pieces together of a puzzle he hadn’t known existed until he saw a sweet little ray of Sunshine with a smirk that matched his own, Reed went from merely surviving life to finding the sunshine that invigorated the pieces of his soul that had dormant for years.

Reed and Hazel didn’t just have electrifying chemistry, it was more than that, the conversations they shared, in the moments they are near one another, it feels as though a soul that had been split, found its missing half.

I have come to cherish the hours I’m able to get lost in a world with the Barnes family, but never more so than inside the pages of Southern Sunshine.

Madison takes you on a heartfelt journey, alongside swoony southern men and the sassy women they fall in love with. Each word wraps around your heart like a hug that heals a bit of your soul.

Southern Sunshine delivered an amplified version of what I love about the Southern Series and the Barnes family. A piquant blend of soul-searing chemistry, a swoony southern hero, a strong sweet heroine, a sassy little girl, fervently heartwarming feels, and steam, all inside a fictional world that feels like home with a family teeming unconditional love, and unwavering loyalty, and when you reach the end your heart will be full, and your soul sated. A top read of 2021, and undoubtedly my favorite of the Southern Series.

Inside this world where the men are so swoony you will shed tears, the women are strong and incredibly loving, the way the parents love their kids unconditionally with unwavering support, grandparents who love with more intensity the more the family grows, all of these are the reasons this series has made me shed more “feel good” tears than any other series.

It’s not all Sunshine, some take Chances, others forget to take a moment to watch the Sunrise, every character is full of Heart, pages of Heat fueled chemistry, Secrets that never stay secret for long, every book gives you the sense of home, your heart overflowing with heartwarming feels, and brimming with love, offering hours of Comfort.

This is my first Natasha Madison, and despite this being the eighth book in the series, I had no problem picking this up and following along. I thoroughly enjoyed this small town, second chance, secret baby romance!

Reed can't wait to get out of town- he desperately wants to escape to somewhere else and never look back. Hazel is headed off to college in just two months, but on the night before Reed leaves town, they get together and Hazel is left alone to the consequences of that night.

Both of them end up back in town at the same time, Hazel on the death of her beloved grandfather, and Reed while on leave from the military after an injury. While both are in town they come upon each other and Reed discovers what he had left behind years ago. I'm usually not a huge secret baby fan, but this is so well done that I loved it. This is such a sweet, heartfelt romance - I can't wait read the all previous books in the series!

I received an Advance Reader Copy and have voluntarily left an honest review.

Second chance, single mother romance

Another small town hit from Natasha. I enjoyed Hazel and Reed, they had a spicy second-chance romance but second chances are never my favourite trope. Natasha did do it well with how Hazel and Reed reconnected.

Hazel is back in town as her grandad has passed away and Reed has been sent back from being in service. Reed never knew about the little girl he left behind 6 years ago but when he finds out he promises to never leave her again and he makes it his mission to make Hazel part of that promise as well. I love how all the families that have been created in this series all come together to get this house that Hazel has inherited back on course. Seeing a little girl grow up in this family when she didn't really have any was very cute.

It's a slow burn and there is minimal spice compared to the other books in the series but Reed definitely tries his best to woo Hazel and get her to trust him again.

Reed and Hazel stole my heart in this second chance at love romance. They became close during their last summer in their hometown so when things heat up, they both walk away thinking it will be a great memory to look back on, but fate has other plans. Years go by with Reed always avoiding going home, he always felt he was constantly compared to the men in his family and could never measure up. When Reed walked away from Hazel that summer, he was determined to create his own path and leave his own mark on this world, but things don’t always go as planned. Hazel comes back to town with the intentions of sorting her grandfathers in order then plans to leave as soon as possible, she has a big secret and wants to avoid as many people as possible. When fate intervenes and brings these two back in each other’s lives can they explore what is next or are they doomed to leave yet again without looking back? They have amazing chemistry and have always loved each other in a way but time apart and the things that have happened can’t be undone so they must decide where they go from here. I know this is vague, but this story was so beautiful and heartfelt it should be enjoyed with me spoiling anything for anyone, just sit back enjoy another hit in this series and let the emotions take you.

Single Parent Romance? Yes!
Small Town Romance? Yes!
Second chance Romance? Yes!
Toll geschrieben.
Das Setting war ein Traum.
Tolle Protas.

A trope that I’ve come to really enjoy that a lot of people don’t love is secret child. There is something just so heartbreakingly beautiful about a man falling in love with his child he didn’t even know existed. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s often paired with a second chance romance which is my all time fave.

This was a beautiful story and great ending to this series (even though it continues in the Southern Wedding series) It didn’t even bother me that the actual love story didn’t really start until almost 90%. The real love story was between Reed and his daughter

I dove right into this book after getting it and I couldnt stop reading it!

Southern Sunshine was an amazing book! It made me laugh, it made me cry a bunch of times. Reed and Hazel are my favorite couple after Kallie and Jacob!
I seriously loved this book.

Small Town, Second Chance and surprise baby! This is right up my alley!
Natasha Madison has never disappointed me with her stories! Cant wait to hopefully read more in this or a new series! We still have alot of characters left.
