Excellent storytelling! The usual whirlwind of events, with some very foreseeable revelations (let's not forget, these stories are written for teenagers), but gripping from the very first words to the last, soothing, after-the-climax chapters. I can't wait to proceed to the next one, but I'll have to, as I don't have the free time to read this much right now (but if I started, I wouldn't be able to put it down).

If you're a big fan of Percy, this book is really irritating! (Because he's not in it, but is constantly mentioned). But it's really good! It was much better the second time through for me, since I wasn't as impatient to get to Percy this time around, and I was able to enjoy these characters more fully.
But Rick is a monster who toys with your emotions. That is all.
