The Executioner

Chris Carter

4.24 AVERAGE

Hunter remains an attractive, engaging hero. The plots move quickly, with only slight jarring from the weird, over-inclusive, slightly creepy descriptions of the appearance of each new character. A crime series to binge - as the book blurb boasts - like a box set.

Throughly enjoyed the book but it lacked the same feel as the first book, you seemed to have known who the killer was much earlier on than he usually allows. Which is fine but it's lacks Carter's usual mixture of finese and grotesque.

This book definitely felt more polished and really improved on the pacing from the first book. Didn't feel nearly as gnarly as the first in the series, but just as page turning.
