That was amazing. So much better than the first. I love Robert Hunter. He's so well developed as character. He's really compassionate, intelligent and think outside the box. He's not without flaws. And that makes this story incredible. I didn't guess the killer, but I did guess the motive. I'm getting there. 10 books to go.

Probably a 4.5* rating.

Such a disturbing read, but it kept me glued to the page and I didn't guess the final twist! I'm definitely looking forward to picking up the next book in the series.

Another fantastic book by Chris Carter

The pace didn’t let up at all - non stop murder, mystery and mayhem. So much plot packed in, we had two serial killer plots which connected with a key character. I can’t wait to read the next one!

Is it too early to call it?? Early prediction but this may be my favourite series for 2023.

Hunter and Garcia are back in book 2. When the first body is found in a church they think it's a realistic killing but when more bodies are soon discovered they realise they are on the hunt for a sick, twisted serial killer.

Each short chapter leaves you on a cliffhanger and desperate to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next. They are gruesome and thrilling and with the killer killing his victims in a way they all feared I was left with shivers running down my spine.

Chris Carter is a magician with words!!

Synopsis -

Inside a Los Angeles church, on the altar steps, lies the blood-soaked body of a priest. Later, the forensic team discover that, on the victim's chest, the figure 3 has been scrawled in blood.

At first, Detective Robert Hunter believes that this is a ritualistic killing. But as more bodies surface, he is forced to reassess. All the victims died in the way they feared the most. Their worst nightmares have literally come true. But how could the killer have known? And what links these apparently random victims?

Hunter finds himself on the trail of an elusive and sadistic killer, someone who apparently has the power to read his victims' minds. Someone who can sense what scares his victims the most. Someone who will stop at nothing to achieve his twisted aim.
