this book did a really good job and depicting general LGBTQ+ diversity - maybe it could have been a bit better place wise, and after the first 60ish pages all the extracts were from the last 120 years which does go against the time diversity aspect. anthologies like this are always going to be difficult to compile and i think frank wynne did a reasonable job.
i have discovered lots more LGBTQ+ literature i want to check out now!
my favourite authors in the anthology were:
Valentine Ackland, Neil Bartlett, Alison Bechdel, Rita Mae Brown, Catullus, Patrizia Cavalli, Ismat Chughtai, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, Juno Dawson, Magnus Hirschfeld, Homer, A.E. Houseman, Keith Jarrett, Niviaq Korneliussen, Hezy Leskly, Anne Lister, Audre Lorde, Amy Lowell, Armistead Maupin, Andrew McMillan, Murathan Mungan, Takahashi Mutsuo, Pier Paolo Pasolini, A. Revathi, Sappho, Lawrence Schmiel, Hida Viloria, Walt Whitman, Oscar Wilde, Jeanette Winterson and Virginia Woolf
