Argh, another cliffhanger! I hate it when I accidentally think a series is a trilogy...
The book was pretty good, though I didn't like it as much as the previous two. I feel like it's trying to do too much. Often, series fall into a trap of having to constantly raise the stakes and add layers, and that's happening here a bit. Some new subplots are starting up (Jacqueline and Camila, maybe the Conte, the queens, and wtf, really, Thea as a succubus?? ), so there are enough stories for the next book(s). That also means the lore here is getting more and more complicated as well.
The book also has multiple POVs (not just the MFC and MMC), which was confusing at times. I think that 4 different characters' POV chapters is a bit too much.
So overall, good book, I really enjoyed it, but I worry that I won't remember all the many details and allusions when the next one comes out. But I will read the next one for sure!
