It's unfortunate that so many MF romances rely on the FMC being as dumb as a box of rocks. Is this what cishet women want for themselves? What they see in themselves?

Honestly, this book took me longer to get through than the first two. I enjoy the plot thickening, growing magical elements, but the pacing was off. The romance was still fantastic. I don’t have much to say other than I’ll continue on because I want to know what happens.

Good mindless audiobooks free on Hoopla. First book was probably the best? I have no interest in reading any more though

This series does actually get better the farther you get into it. The third book finally revealed Thea’s father and more of what she is. I did feel as though there was a lot of filler in this book and the second half gives you major whiplash until you understand what’s going on. Although it does get a bit explained by Thea, it still felt kind of thrown together and things left weird on that plot twist. Like Thea’s “accident” - something that is mentioned multiple times in the past two books and never explained and were just going to breeze over that?? We never get more about the Morticum. We now have these Queens introduced and a magic system that isn’t fully fleshed out which is kinda annoying when all of a sudden everything is ok because something new is revealed in the magical sense and all is fixed. The ending was good but also a bit cliche and cheesy for my liking BUT I did overall enjoy the book and the characters, even when Thea is doing dumb things. I LOVED having a few Jacqueline POV chapters and getting more of her because she is one of my favorite characters.
