Short child aged story. Tugs at your heartstrings conceptually but as an adult found the story altogether a bit strange, especially regarding the child being the love interest of a very very old man. Nope.

I picked up a copy of Tuck Everlasting on a whim from a little free library and it was a nice stroll down memory lane. Coming back to it as an adult, I can see why it's a school staple. The writing is compelling -- just plain good, not just for children's fiction but in general. The interactions between Tuck and Winnie did not hit like they did when I was a kid, but I was still nostalgic and I had a laugh at how "cool supernatural older love interest" remains a compelling trope to me both now and back then. Wherever you go, there you are, etc etc.
