I thought my 4yo would like this because recently he's been into rhymes, but I had forgotten how belligerent and rude the non-Sam character is when refusing to eat the green eggs and ham for 95% of the book. =/
Another Dr. Seuss favorite. My little guy is still too young to appreciate the silliness of this story, but we read it anyway for language development.
I learnt to read with the Dr Seuss books, this is one of my favourites.
I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them Sam, I am"
I saw it sitting out and I couldn't resist reading through it. Still so cute!

When I hear “Green Eggs and Ham”, my mind takes me back to kindergarten when we celebrated Dr. Seuss Day in March. Out cafeteria ladies put green food dye into the sunny side up eggs and diced up ham for lunch. This is one of the earliest memories that I have and I have Dr. Seuss to thank for that. This book is a timeless classic that is a must-read for every child who is beginning to read. The easy language, fun rhymes, and colorful illustrations make reading fun and exciting. While these books are fun and cute for children, Dr. Seuss’ messages always seem to have hidden moral lessons behind them that adults can appreciate too. One of those lessons is to not let anyone hate on you for doing something you love. Sam I Am loves green eggs and ham and wants the other character to try them, but he just tells Sam I Am that he does not like Sam I Am. I think this book is great all around and there’s no question as to why it’s a classic.
