Alf has lots going on with mail that keeps coming, a staff member who has her time to shine, two guys she has feelings for and a killer on the loose. There is loads of laughs not only at the names of the judges etc from Witchflix TV but the drama's of the heart for Alf then we have the incidents that start to happen in and around the Wonky Inn after the murder that keeps you guessing who it could be and oh how I loved it how young Florence got to finally have her time to shine because the girl really deserves it. ❤

"Soggy bottom" is a phrase that conjures images unrelated to baking. But I'm not a baker. I'm not a diaper-changer, either.

Book 7 and finally we find out that one character is queer. I've gotten so the majority of my characters are queer. But this is still better than J. K. Rowling.

The cake contest theme of Victoriana: it's striking how different the meaning of Victorian is to different characters. Victoriana makes me think of aesthetics: literature, fashion, art, architecture, and interior design.

Again I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it, the same as the rest in the series. It is always good to revisit the inn with all the same characters, but with new ones each book to add to the mix. Love the details of the complications of this murder, keeps me guessing as to who the murderer is and why. I also loved the detail of the cakes in the competition. Was disappointed that Alf and Silvin’s romance did not progress very far in this book, hope it does in the next one, can’t wait for it to be out.
