I'm still digesting my feelings towards this book. It's beautifully written and the characters jump
Off the page. My problem is brier has the mental age of a child. The author goes to great lengths to make sure you are aware that brier does know he is gay, that he enjoys being with jackie and that at no point is jackie taking advantage. Still the story didn't set well with me and I can't explain why.

I didn't think I would enjoy this book when I started reading it. I was won over by Brier's tenacity. I also really enjoyed the dynamic between Brier and Jackie. It was nice that they had external and internal conflict to work through. And I even ended up in tears once or twice. That is quite a feat. Overall, a quick, enjoyable read!
