What a fabulous book. It makes me understand how lacking and biased the treatment of the Vietnam war usually is in American treatments. But this is not done pedagogically - it is an outstanding work of literature.
Just upgraded this to a 5, the more I think about it. Along with its strength as a novel, it confronts the reader with how amazingly narrow the American perspective is on the Vietnam War. Highly recommend.
