Wolf Rain fulfilled all my hopes and expectations! I loved Alexie and Memory so much. Especially because even if she seemed fragile, she was very strong psychologically. And she was definitely a match for the golden wolf who thought he might be broken.
There was suspense, there was romance, there was hotness, there was fighting. And I was glued to my kindle most of the day.

Re-reading a favorite series is not something I can say I've done often... however, now that I have re-read the whole Psy-Changeling series, I'm questioning why that is! It is AWESOME! I mean, of course, Nalini Singh is a master story-teller. And I am in awe of how she started the series over 10 years ago, and it still feels fresh and exciting.
Wolf Rain really did it for me in so many ways! Alexis and Memory appeared to have everything stacked against them... and it was not easy and simple in any way. But that just made the good times even better.

Wolf Rain gives us the story of Alexei, a SnowDancer wolf we’ve met before as the pack’s youngest and prettiest lieutenant, and Memory, an E with—of course—a rare subdesignation. Memory was trapped and psychically abused by a Psy psychopath for 15 years before she was rescued by Alexei, and the story follows her process of healing and uncovering the mystery of her subdesignation. We also learn more in this book about the continuing degradation of the Net and how the fall of Silence affects individuals on the higher end of the gradient, primarily Pax Marshall, the scion of another powerful Psy family. (I have a feeling that I’ll be highly anticipating Pax’s book, the same way I was so hyped for Kaleb’s.)
This book was a mixed bag for me. I’m not a fan of the trope of an abused FMC with special powers rescued by the male MC, and then also falling for him—there’s a reason my least favorite book in the series was the book that featured this same trope. We saw Singh do this formula again in Kaleb and Sahara’s book, but I loved Kaleb too much to care, and it was made more believable by the fact that they were childhood best friends. In contrast, it was basically insta-love in this book between Alexei and Memory.
I also had difficulty believing that Memory would be so headstrong and well-adjusted, with a very healthy sense of self-esteem and connection with people, after fifteen years of being raised by a psychopath with only TV shows and a cat for company. This was explained away by the fact that she’s an E… But nope, I’m not having it.
So it took me awhile to get through this book, but as usual, I kept reading for the plot and to understand how Memory’s abilities actually worked. The reveal was pretty cool in the end. I was also pretty intrigued by the storyline on rogues on Alexei’s part, but I felt that that subplot was overshadowed by Memory’s story, and was tied up too easily for my liking.
Anyway, not my favorite mainly because of the trope, but you might enjoy it if it’s your cup of tea. Overall this was a good continuation to the story of the world. 3 stars

This book was a weird mix, it felt too short, but too much. I give 3.5 stars. I can definitely see the jumping off point for another series of books, which I am excited to read.
What I enjoyed most was the romance between Alexei and Memory. The story follows the same formula. We learn a little something new abut E-Psy, other Psy, Arrows, and the mating bonds.
