My first McCarthy book and I’ll definitely be reading more. Loved this.

“You wear out, Ed Tom. All the time you spend tryin to get back what’s been took from you there’s more goin out the door. After a while you just try and get a tourniquet on it”

Good choice if you’re looking for a short read, enticing plot, and some flawed characters that have you rooting for them anyway. Some witty banter, some shocking twists, plenty of imagery. And a badass villain. But is Anton the villain, or is it the drug trade itself? Enjoyable read if you’re a fan of McCarthy’s style and a nihilist. Hehe.
