This was an interesting story told in an interesting way. I listened to the audio book version of this. I did almost DNF it around the halfway point because it seemed a little too much "Mrs.Goldblatt gets her groove back" for me. EEK! a Jewish woman in a scandalous affair with a black man hijacks the story! But the main storyline reasserted itself, and I started enjoying it again. I'm just not that into steamy romance, but as it was, it turned out necessary for the characters' development. I loved the characters and the author's decision to tell the story from multiple points of view.

Pretty good! The story kept you engaged, and I liked the writing style. I felt like at times there were too many POVs and some didn’t add anything to the plot. I also think the author left the reader to draw a bit too many conclusions, which made it really easy to miss things here and there. Characters didn’t feel super fleshed out, either. I did like the setting and overall story, though!

This book was written in an interesting manner with a MULTITUDE of POVs moving the story forward but ebbing to and from the main protagonist Maddie Schwartz (who was the worst btw) on her quest to leave her past life and start a new one in late 1960s Baltimore. Despite the main character being terribly annoying and entitled I thought this book was interesting overall, especially after learning the two main cases were based on true stories. Although in the end, while it was refreshing to read about Baltimore from someone who seems to have actually been here, I don't think this was quite my cup of tea and the story seemed to be swept up into an ending prematurely.
