Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced readers edition! I overall enjoyed this book, I would say it’s more of a 3.5, however the multiple viewpoints/perspectives I did not find necessary to the story. If anything it did nothing but confuse me through-out. It seemed drawn out and like some stories were just fluff but the ending surprised me and for that alone I say it’s worth the read!

Had I known about the structure before picking this up, I might've passed on it, thinking it was a tad gimmicky. Glad I didn't because I would have been wrong. All the points of view (and there are many) expand and propel the story in unexpected ways, including some surprises before it's over. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will read more by this author.

The story meandered toward the ending with too many random voices.

DNF at the end of Part 1.
It was a sludge. There's a lack of focus. Too many irrelevant details about and from passersby. This is supposed to be a story of Maddie Schwartz finding the truth about the death of Cleo Sherwood, not Maddie "Mary Sue" Schwartz, bored middle-aged housewife turned sleuth extraordinaire. Plus, how did she turn into Sherlock Holmes? There was no hint whatsoever that she was good at deduction.
