My 6P review
“It’s often said that winners write history, but there are no winners here.”
Two years since THAT event and the people of Beartown are faced with fresh heartache.
This is the third and final book in the series Beartown and it did not disappoint. Backman can really write a story.
I loved the characters and I loved the town of Beartown. I want to meet them all, I want to visit Beartown and walk in the forest, and I want to see Beartown play Hed in hockey.
This book will challenge you. What would you do in that situation? Would you seek redemption? Would you offer forgiveness? There was a real sense of community but what does it mean to you?
These characters are going to stay with me a long time to come. We have all met or know people like Peter, Kira, Maya, Ana, Ramona, Benji, Bobo, Amat and even Kevin. They are so real.
Backman’s story telling is so detailed, and so moving.
I would also like to make special mention to Neil Smithe who, without his translation, I would have been unable to read this remarkable story.
