4.5/5 stars - this was definitely my fav of the off campus series!!
i LOVEE the boy obsessed/reformed playboy trope. and something i really like about this author is how funny her books always are.

dean was so charming it was almost nauseating. im pretty sure if i met him in real life i would hate him soley on principle. the principle being, you cannot be hot and charming and funny AND down to earth, its not fair to the rest of us. calm down.
but seriously i loved dean. hes so cute and obsessed and i loved watching him get past all his denial to realize all he really wanted was her.

allie was also lovely. she avoided dean like the plague (which clearly only egged him on). she knew who she was and what she wanted and she was NOT going to be tempted. except for the part where she was indeed tempted. but like.. cant blame her. i would also be tempted.

they had such great banter, their love story holds my heart. i would go to war for them <3

small spoilers ahead, but they honestly could be seen as incentives to read the book more than anything bc they dont ruin anything!!

the scene where she breaks down and asks hannah (who previously did not know about their relationship) to call dean, and then dean practically breaks down the door to come get her. when i tell you i ATE THAT UP.
and hes a wonderful wonderful salsa dancer ;)

I am obsessed with Elle Kennedy, anytime I’m in a slump I can just pick up one of her books until I figure out what to read next. I love that this book was a great blend between the plot and characters. Such an easy, fun read. The spice is 🥵 highly recommend!

I was a little weary going into this one, because Dean’s personality in The Deal and The Mistake rubbed me the wrong way. I’m glad to say he won me over, but it took the whole book for it to happen. He f-ed up big, and I respect the hell out of him for the way he cleaned up the mess he made of his life. Allie was sweet, funny, and a good friend. Her strength and ability to call BS and walk away when she needed to was so well written. I loved the banter between them and the way they pushed each other to figure out who they were and what they wanted. The spice was perfectly timed. The intensity and adventurous nature fit them perfectly. The plot sucked me in and held me captive. The ending was good, and it had me running to pick up The Goal. While Dean redeemed himself and proved to be worthy of Allie, Garrett is still my fav!

Still just as good. Still a fave. Dean is amazing. I do think The Deal is a better book, probably… but I personally enjoy The Score the most. Yes, because of Dean.
