This one was a little slower for me. I have already read Ford’s book and I was going back to read this one. It was very good especially the second half of the book but for some reason the first half just seemed to be slow. The first half seemed to be giving a lot of background that did make sense in the other half but it took me a while to get there. Overall I still really liked it and I am a fan of the series!

I think I love Aasher more than Theo. I couldn’t put this book down. Seriously. I had started reading it and got my copy of Iron Flame so I started reading that but put it to the side because I couldn’t get this book out of my head. So good. Cannot wait for Ford’s story!

Aasher is focused on his goal, quite literally. His entire future hinges on a successful hockey career in college to reach the NFL. With no room for error after a previous incident at his old school, he reluctantly agrees when his coach asks him to watch over his daughter as she moves onto campus and steer her clear of the lustful hockey players. Little does he know, the daughter turns out to be an ice queen who challenges him at every opportunity.
Riley, on the other hand, is grappling with her own struggles. Once a promising figure skater, she can't bring herself to step foot on the ice again. When she overhears the players making a despicable bet involving her, she vows to make their lives miserable. Even with Aasher trying to intervene at every juncture. While he may not be part of the bet, he's not exactly her ally either. Until everything changes, and he transforms into something entirely different.
The slow burn in this story was absolutely captivating, especially when he finally reaches his breaking point. I couldn't help but let out a squeal when he did. And the aftermath? Absolutely fantastic.
This book was a delightful mix of fun, steaminess, and satisfaction. I'm eager to dive into the first book in the series and eagerly anticipate the next installment. I highly recommend it.
