I didn’t realize that this book is a serialization. There are 3 installments that make up a traditional length book. That means that this installment (and the 2nd) ends mid story. This is not standalone. You must read all three in order to get one story.  The age gap is fairly easy to ignore in this installment, but is prominent in the following two installments. The spice is vanilla and rare throughout the installments. It was not enough to overcome my age gap icks. I would not have picked up this book if I had known these things in advance. The characters were fine and it’s likely I would have enjoyed the series were Haley not a college student.

* spoiler alert ** I listened via Audible, and I think the female narrator did the story a disservice. She was too breathy and had minimal inflection to show personality.

Now, the story itself is still good thus far. . .

Now our FMC is no longer working for Wicked, but WHY? OH, it's good. You'll find out.
But because she didn't finish her contract, she didn't get her college credits. So this portion has our FMC trying to rectify this.
During this book, we learn who her father is !!

Our MMC is having trouble with the songs & such. He follows our FMC to the bar she works at, and we learn about his secrets mentioned in book #1.
Turns out he is a daddy!!! What!!!

Second read of this book and it’s still as good as the first time! Love love love this book and I am running to re-read Wicked #3!

Since I was essentially left with emotional blue balls from the first book I picked this one up. But was still left wanting. We were given more story - this is true - but were still unnecessarily put thorough turmoil for the sake of emotional conflict.

Obviously this review is also biased since I was dropped into a cliffhanger without the full series being available through my library so I can't go anywhere to read the rest of the story and FWIW I don't think it's worth my money when I have lots of other options for my reading pleasure.

Lots of good artistic/creative type emotions that I think folks that like rockstar romances will enjoy - just wasn't my cup of tea.

I really enjoyed the twists in this book.

I listened to this trilogy in the Tempt romance audiobook app and it swept me away. I loved how Jax and Haley were both strong characters with struggles and secrets. It made the story feel very balanced and invested me in the characters more. I love how Jax was a bad boy rocker, but with a softer side. I loved how Haley was a mix of youthful ignorance, kindness, and fierce intelligence. I loved how she stood her ground when Jax tried to push her around and gave as good as she got.

Jax is a rockstar on tour and Haley is assigned to help his aging sound engineer. Once on tour, good girl Haley charms everyone. Jax wants to keep her at arms length, but also can’t resist her. She pushes him when he needs it and he finds himself trusting her. As they grow closer, things really heat up. When certain truths come to light, they find themselves being drawn apart. But staying away isn’t as easy as it seems.

This is a yummy age gap rockstar romance trilogy that has just a touch of bad boy rocker to make things interesting and a female lead that isn’t a pushover. There are twists and turns in the story that you won’t see coming and the dynamic between Jax and Haley is hot and a little volatile. If you are a fan of rockstar romances, this trilogy is definitely for you.
