I only give such a low rating due to the obviousness of some of the tropes. Also the world building gets strange, especially with the sea witches at the end. Geographic features seem to crop up randomly. And all the humans hating Estrella doesn’t fully make sense, but I like that they don’t all just accept it

I kept telling myself "I should DNF this" and I should have listened. I had no idea what was going on for like 79% of this book. I only read it because of the cliffhanger at the end of book 1, and I nearly DNF'd that. It wasn't worth it.
I was hoping the smut would carry me through but even that was repetitive and boring. The narrator for Caelum's POV sounds like the Moviefone guy and when he read the sex scenes I wanted to vom.
I'm even madder I can't find a decent chapter summary of this book so I can understand what the hell I just read.
