I flew through this book! I watched the film last year and loved it, so I had quite high hopes for this, despite my wariness as I don't read many screenplays. I was glad to see that the film didn't stray far from the book!

I have to admit that I've never read a screenplay before, but I really loved the movie and the book looked so pretty, so I had to give it a go!

And I ended up really loving it. Of course, I already knew the story and the dialogue and while reading the script I constantly had the movie playing in the back of my mind, but the descriptions of some moments were really lovely to read. Even in this script JK Rowling has a very vivid way of writing things down.

The nice thing about the script is that it also gives a little more insight here and there. At some points characters' thoughts are written down and there are moments where a certain expression gets more meaning because of how it was meant according to the script.

To me, this book was a really nice addition to the movie. If you already loved the movie, it gives some new insight and it's nice to have all those moments on paper and read them at your own pace. If you didn't see the movie before, it gives a nice impression of what's waiting for you. Because all of this, every sentence, every adjective, every word, literally comes to life on screen!

How amazing is that?

After watching the movie several times (no captions btw), I still didn't understand some of the dialogue and certain body language or eye contact with Queenie's Legilimency. It is hard to understand those significant movements and get confused if you are not skilled in reading others emotions. Reading the screenplay helps explain a lot and helps you relive the movie again so 10/10 would recommend.

5 STARS!!

description

I loved it just as much as the movie and can't wait to own the movie when it comes out on DVD, yes I still use a DVD player haha I even listened to the film's soundtrack while reading this which made it 10x better. The illustrations in this were amazing and for any Harry Potter fan, this is a must-read and a must-own for your shelf, plus it's bloody GORGEOUS!! I really hope they publish the rest of the screenplays like this. I think they would look awesome next to the HP series. Here's hoping! - Richard
