4 stars. This was much better than book one. I liked book one, don’t get me wrong but I think the author has really found her footing with this book. The world building is much better here and the characters went through some great development. Speaking of characters Yeeran and Furi are everything. Like, I love those two badass women. And that moment they had in the cave? Made me 15% gayer so thank you for that El-Arifi. I’m not sure why I thought this series was a duology but it’s not. There will be another book though I’m curious as to how that’s gonna go because the ending to this one ties up everyones stories pretty well. Overall, this was a fun time. If you were on the fence about book one I would say pick this one up as it is a lot better.

I LOVED Faebound. I suggested it to anyone and everyone. I thought for sure I would also love Cursebound... I did not. I felt as though Faebound did a good job of separating itself from the overabundance of Fae-based fantasy books. Cursebound did not provide the same separation, instead, it's easy to confuse with one of the many other fae fantasy books out there. There were several times I stopped and went "why is this important?" Part of me wants to go back and remember why I loved Faebound so much but I'm worried my view will be tainted knowing what came next.
I also bought the Fairyloot edition before reading it, so it would match my Faebound but this was just disappointing.

This picks up almost exactly where book 1 ends. There were a lot of twists, turns, and surprises throughout this book; some that left me mouth open, catching flies. Yeeran is on her way back home to tell the Chieftain, and her former lover, about the fae being real and that they have been working with their enemies. But, her lover is mean to Pila so we hate her. She does, however, listen to the intelligence but then forces Yeeran to take her to the fae. Well, she holds her captive so when Fury sees this she kills her and all but one of the people who were part of the captivity; that person gets away because Yeeran gives her warning to run. That comes back to bite them, big time, because she takes the info back to her tribe and is able to unite all of the tribes against the fae. Lettle is being targeted by assassins who want to kill her to destroy the king. But, they capture her and one of the guards befriends her. She is saved because of a game that she and Yeeran played as children. Turns out, the resistance is being led by Fury's father, which we don't find out until after his lover has been killed and the attacks still continue. Fury and Ryann decide to throw a ball for all of the fae, to announce Lettle's new initiative, and she gets tricked into walking with Fury's father, who she thought was a friend, but really he's not. Also, Ryann finally finds out about the prophecy that Lettle is going to be his death and he's mad that she kept it from him, not that she's going to be his demise. So, they are broken up. Yeeran and Fury are in a bad spot since Fury killed her former lover. And the elf's show up as a united front to battle. This was so good and there is nothing about when the next book comes out. This is ruining my life! I need to know what happens!
