This book discusses the social determinants of health throughout our health care systems while analyzing the holes through which our patients fall. It happens everywhere, not just in Chicago.  This was a poignant read that allowed me to step into someone else’s shoes for a change.

A good book about the pitfalls of the American healthcare system. I wish some topics were expanded upon more, but for the book being as short as it was I think the author did a good job of getting the message across.

The author did a good job of laying out some of healthcare's inequalities and why it's going to be so difficult to fix. However, I didn't much care for the format he used, with letters to patients making up every other chapter.
