This is most definitely the prettiest book I've ever owned and I love it so much, and I miss Sir Pratchett even more and Paul Kidby has done such a great job over the years, the best job to be honest, Discworld could not have been better illustrated than what he created.

"Check with Mort" is such an emotional piece, I can't deal with it.

Absolutely loved this amazing tribute to Sir Pratchett, and ignited my love for the Discworld once again, even more.

I love the fact that this was made. As someone who has read the books mostly during childhood, this is something that makes you smile of nostalgia and good memories.

To this day he remains my favourite author, having played a big part in forming my character then and now. I still regret that I did not have the possibility to meet him in person. But every piece of his mind, including how he imagined his characters to look like, is something I treasure and which makes me feel a tiny bit better.

Absolutely amazing artwork from Paul Kidby, who manages to pack insane amounts of detail into every one of his Discworld pictures. This massive book contains a lot we may have seen before (although usually not as large) and several pieces that I've never seen, both new and older works. It is, of course, by no means *every* Discworld illustration he's done, but it's a great selection and a worth addition to any fan's collection.

Yes, I've already reviewed this. Why this second review? Because I have two different editions: this slipcased one and the already reviewed deluxe edition. The reason I bought both being that the title art piece, here, is not Greebo but Errol.

Other than that, apart from the binding and packaging, it's the same book. We get some cover art, pencil drawings, chalk pieces and occasional character portraits as well as additional art from within the stories of the series, all made by Paul Kidby.

I'm glad I bought both and revisited the fantastic art now that I'm reading the final volume in the series. Some characters or places look slightly different from what I've imagined but I agree with Sir Terry that Mr. Kidby had an uncanny way of representing his thoughts and creations.

A wonderful peek inside the mind of the author and the world he created - made to be marveled at (the book was produced at very high quality) and to reminisce about the Disc.

GOOD LORD, it is gorgeous and worth every penny.

I pre-ordered this book as soon as it was available. Well, there was a mix-up and I pre-ordered the wrong one but I found out in time and managed to still get a copy of this limited deluxe edition. And boy, oh boy, is this a special edition!

The book offers art from across the novels (ever since Kidby took over after Kirby died), some in sepia, some pencil sketches and some oil paintings. It is ordered into chapters according to the places on the Discworld as well as some group of characters. The chapters have a quote describing the place or group in question but otherwise the art speaks for itself so I'm gonna let it speak for itself in this review too:

It is very big and heavy (especially with the box) but I'm proud to be able to add this to my collection.
