Once again this author has left me at a cliff hanger that leaves me sad and pissed off and with a slew of questions of what is going to happen next and what dumb shit Kai or Paedyn is goingbto cause.

I love the way that this was written. It had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next thing to happen. And when I tell the enemies to lovers in this books was just *chefs kiss* perfect.

And I cannot believe that Kitt went and "proposed" to Paedyn when he damn well knows that Kai is in love with her and that she very much feels something for Kai even if he isn't for sure that it's love. That is a fucked up thing to do. Especially without speaking to him in private about it first, make sure that he was okay with it. Cause you can hate someone and love them all at the same time, that doesn't mean that you are okay with your brother getting with that person.

And was Paedyn the one that Kitt and his advisor were talking about in his study or did he come up with this on the fly in his craziness. I could have sworn in the first book that there wasnsomething mentioned about him being promised to someone else. Maybe I am wrong though.

Also how is Paedyn going to react to this. Is she going to be okay and go along with it to survive? Also will Kitt have her killed if she refuses to marry him? What is his whole game plan for that? Will Pae pretend to go along with it and then try and escape with Kai later?

I need the next book in my hands right now.

Book 2 leaves off exactly where book one ends. With Paedyn on the run, and Kai on the hunt. Follow along as they try to hate each other with all they are and deny the love that had grown.

The sequel to POWERLESS continues Paedyn and Kai’s story.

This entire series has me hooked, and I cannot WAIT for book three. I absolutely love the characters here (especially, once again, Kai, who is so nuanced and morally grey and absolutely perfect I can’t stand it), and really enjoyed the layers to their development and relationships here. This book was very different from POWERLESS but I was still thoroughly entertained the entire time.

I did predict the ending, but I still screamed anyway, and there was a jaw dropping plot reveal towards the middle that I am still struggling to wrap my brain around (seriously, people, I need answers). I can’t recommend this series enough for YA fantasy fans!

CW: Violence/blood/death/grief; mentions of child death; torture; death of parent

I feel like this book was mostly just filler to build up for the third and final book in the series. There was a lot of action and fighting, but none of it super impactful. We spend the whole book on something that probably could've been resolved way faster, but I love Kai and Paedyn so I didn't mind reading about their journey together. It was a tad bit unrealistic at times, but aren't most fantasy books like that sometimes? I was shocked by the ending and will definitely continue this series once the third book comes out. I'm really curious about what will happen to them all and how the series will end.
