Fable by Adrienne Young ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Fable follows the story of a young girl named Fable who was marooned on a scavenging island by her father after their family’s ship sunk. It follows Fable trying to escape the island and how she ends up on a ship to try and find her father again and get her inheritance. There’s a little bit of romance and a lot of mystery, overall it’s a good read. (Definitely not for young readers, probably 15+)

I really enjoyed this book but if I’m being honest it wasn’t the best I’ve ever read

Mixed feelings on this one. (Spoiler alert) I really enjoyed the characters, they were complicated. What I didn't get was the story. It was fractured, and confusing for me. The father dumped his daughter on a dangerous island as a young girl to survive alone ? Why ? Why so extreme ? Then years later she wants to crew for him, she risks it all to find him and then BAM it switches to what's owed her. Now there was a debt ? She finds him and he gives her the key to her inheritance ?!?! What the WHAT ? He left her to die basically and yet he saved this for her ? It was weird he was gruff, threatening, then he was emotional ? Says he was always watching her, but left her on this cutthroat island because it was safer for a 13 year old girl alone ? WTH ? There were so many almost explained points I wanted to scream. Maybe more info will come out in the second book to clarify some of these things ?
Let's talk about the romance that came from the depths of the sea ? Wasn't that something ? Fast insta love that was too unbelievable for me. Once again, maybe it will with more time and info.
There were other characters that stories just dangled too. I didn't get it, didn't believe the exchanges, the sudden acceptance of her or the finances.
I am continuing the series, at least for the next book to see if any of this gets explained.

I really enjoyed this. However, to me it starts of a bit slow and felt a bit rushed at the end.

Thankfully I got the second book from NetGalley so I can find out how the story finishes!
