I am constantly amazed by the consistent quality of craft and character development in Louise Penny’s Insepector Gamache series. In this 14th installment in the series, Gamache pursues fentanyl traffickers in Quebec while also solving a murder in Three Pines. The plot felt a bit tough to follow in spots, but it was still a very strong mystery. One caveat: This series is best read in order from the beginning.
