I don't really remember the details in the book since I read it long time ago. but I am pretty sure I have enjoyed the book so much and the story still present in my mind.
I won't hesitate to read it a 2nd time when I have the time to do so.

I know the story from the various "faithful" adaptations I've seen over the years - most of which have stuck closely to the book, though the book Dracula is an undoubtedly evil villain, with only the faintest trace of the anti hero found in Coppola's film.
There's quite a few characters, drawn quite thinly, especially the female characters and Jonathan Harker, so I'm not surprised the hero gang are sometimes condensed.
The dialogue can sometimes be as heavy and floral as a Victorian parlour's decor, but in some places the novel seems quite modern, as objects like kodak cameras pass through the story. This feeling of a historical world on the eve of changing into the modern world reminds me of the Sherlock Holmes stories.

This is the type of gothic literature that I die for. Absolutely loved the imagery, the mood, the aesthetics, and the plot. It had me hooked all the way through.

I think this was fine. A little long and dry but Lucy’s character was interesting. I wish she would’ve had a better ending though. I didn’t like the direction they took her character, but she was the most interesting. I can tell that a lot of horror movies use Lucy as inspiration, for the unfortunate not virgin characters dying first. Why is there so many retellings of Dracula, Van Helsing, etc but none of Lucy??? Hoping for some Lucy retellings in the future.
