Another great Poirot murder case. Death on the Nile is, like all Christie’s novels, exciting until the end. Only this time there were maybe too many criminals on board of the boat. They must have felt unsafe with the little detective on board as well.

I love Agatha Christie books, and this was so good! The uncommon setting, the list of characters, the little details and hints sprinkled through… Agatha Christie’s books never fail to make me feel like I was there trying to solve the mystery myself.

I had a hard time getting into this book because the exposition was so lengthy and there were some many characters to keep straight that I did a lot of rereading and would still end up kind of confused. I feel like it took far too long for the actual action of the story to begin unfolding and unfortunately when it did I guessed the ending very quickly and I was sort of just waiting to see when it would happen. I will say the twist happens within the last couple pages did surprise me but other than that I wasn’t super shocked and I don’t think I was super invested in the story because the characters were all very unlikeable.

Possibly my favourite Agatha Christie novel.  An absolutely superb plot with lots of clues. Loads of motives and very interesting characters who, as ever, are brilliantly brought to life.

I managed to work out who had committed the crimes which was satisfying but didn't pull together all the clues which made me feel it was a complex puzzle
