One of the best in the series so far. So much happens in this book and so many main characters end their stories here! More twists and turns and a great ending as always. Need to read the next one now!

I’ve loved them all but this, the fourth book in the Game of Thrones series (well, volume 3 part 2), is my favourite. So action packed and exciting. I wore my eyes out one evening reading it non-stop for three and a half hours. 554 pages in one week isn’t bad going.
Three more books to go but may take a little break and give some other books a chance - that’s if I can. May buy volume four just in case I can’t.

Not going to lie, George lost me a bit with Part 1. But holy shit did he reel it back in and knock it out of the park with this one.
I loved 'A Game of Thrones'. I really liked 'A Clash of Kings'. I appreciated 'A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow'. I can only say that I tolerated the fourth installment of 'A Song of Ice and Fire'.
I initially had the utmost respect for Martin's propensity for death and brutality towards his main characters, but after 4 books of it, I can only say it has become tiresome. There is literally no let up. Every chapter is another installment of "oh my god how could that have happened?" and though the stories are still well told I would have really loved some relief from this fear that I will turn a page and my favourite character is dead.
I will read the last 3 books, but not with high expectations or with any hope that things will turn out alright for any of the characters that you are clearly supposed to be rooting for.

So much has happened that I don’t even remember. Ahh yes! The Red Wedding. Enough said? All the characters that were “winning” in the last book lose in this one. Same as the other Game of Throne books, just a load of characters, some die (obviously) so naturally there have to be replacements and more new characters are introduced. I don’t think this is fair on the reader, honestly the storyline should play out without additional characters being introduced this late in the storyline. Anyway… that’s wishful thinking. I like this book less then the third one (part 1), but more than the first book. Overall my response is somewhere in the middle. This book isn’t the best out of the whole series, at times I get confused because they are still bringing up events that happened in book one, and lets face it, in the fast paced world of Game of Thrones that's ages ago. Once you get over the confusion, the storyline is bearable with plenty of good twists and turns... but not enough likable ones. For me.
