Unforgettable
Wow, I am not even sure how to properly summarize my feelings on this wonderful, brilliant, smooth, deliciously dark story(when I say dark, I mean like dark chocolate melting on your tongue slowly and coating it, I would classify this book as a light read in my opinion).
This book deserves a heavy dose of praise. I felt the way that V.E. laid out all the pieces of this story was just incredible! The journey that Addie goes on is one that is so breathtaking and believable. I truly felt that Addie was this real and tangible woman. I feel like she’s my precious secret after finishing this book…Luc too of course.
Luc….again, I am nearly speechless. And am not sure how to truly talk about him without giving everything away. Basically, I drooled on the floor every time he was on scene. I would sell my soul to be his in all honesty. It’s really rare that I come across books that truly capture the essence of Demons, Devils, Lucifer, Old Godly beings or what have you…what V.E. did?! Just f*king nailed it. I could go on and on with the perfection of Luc’s character. The way he would whisper his words, such a vicious and calm delivery gave me chills. The way his temper would rise, the way he moved like silk across glass….just perfection. Pure perfection.
There are so many layers to this story and the more I sit back and sift through them all, I’m just amazed at the brilliance of V.E.’s mind. This was such a lovely read. And another thing, the ending?! It gave me this huge mythological vibe where you could see a God in the making, or two Gods ready to have another game through their immortality. I just can’t get over the beauty and grace that this book holds.
I had the best time and can not wait to go through the rest of her backlist

A little bit slow, but the concept is so intriguing! The ending was perfect though, and I really enjoyed this read.

Slow book but I very much enjoyed it. Loved the last 150 pages of the book. (4,5 stars)

Slow first half, but quick and satisfying finish
I wish the story had been chronological instead of flipping between the present and past events. Addie's curse is established early, so the skips back to the past feel like an everlasting exposition instead of an advancing plot. Halfway through, the plot finally moves forward in a pleasantly ironic rush.
