This is a hard book to rate/review. I was nervous to start it because it has pretty low ratings for a Mia Sheridan book. It wasn’t a bad book at all and it had some twists I wasn’t expecting but I found it hard to connect with the characters.

I didn’t really care for Holden’s character in the beginning and their relationship seemed a bit rushed. Reading this directly after Finding Eden made it hard to appreciate their reunion. It made me compare Eden and Calder’s love to Lily and Holden’s. I know I shouldn’t do that but I did and it just didn’t feel as passionate.

Not a bad book and the idea had so much potential but it was just lackluster.

This book blew me away. There's no way to adequately review it.

4.25*

This wasn't my favorite Mia Sheridan book but I still enjoyed it, and would recommend it. I don't want to say too much and give anything away. It was a beautiful story, but I didn't connect with the characters in this story as much as I did with all of Mia's other characters. The twist did take me by surprise, and I couldn't put the book down.

I was so disappointed by this book. I really thought I was gonna love the story, but I could not connect with the characters at all. The plot twists were choppy and made it harder to understand what was going on.

OH. MY. GOD! There's not enough stars for this book! I've NEVER read a book like this EVER! Mia Sheridan is a pure genius! I just KNOW I'm going to have a MASSIVE book hangover with this one. I can't stop thinking about it and i know I'm going to keep thinking about it for awhile now. This book simply shocks you, melts you, tears you, and puts you back together. The two main characters were filled with so much heart and I wanted to keep reading about them. I could keep reading their love story forever and never tire of it! Now THIS BOOK I'd love to see turned into a movie someday. I need to see it played right out in front of me. I can't wait to see what Mia writes next! I never know with her, but love her and her stories all the same.

This book was told in first person through the hero and heroine's POV.

Alright, here is the dealio. Mia Sheridan=win win for me. I have never met a Mia Sheridan book that I didn’t like. And this one, although getting tons of negative reviews, was actually one of my favorites of hers. Mainly because it was so different.

Here is my only advice: GO IN BLIND. Do what I did. BE LIKE ME! Don’t read the blurb. Don’t do it. And don’t read reviews. I am going to try and keep this one more “feelings” based so that I do not spoil this book in any way for any person.

“We will never be without flaws, the lives we’ve been given are not like that. But, Lily, in my heart, you are perfect for me. Perfectly mine. And I’m yours.”

I don’t have a complaint about any of the main characters. I do, but not any that effected the way I took this book in. I do want to add this; the two main characters are two very lost souls that completely reach to each other in the darkness of their lives. And despite all of that, I still found them to be beautifully written characters. Completely.

This book is so much more different then Mia’s other books she has published. In every page and every chapter we see the connection between Lily and Holden. A validated connection. Not none of that instalove junk. This book does have romance in it but it also explores the vastness of humanity. It explores mental disorders, and much much more.

Let me just end this by saying: THIS BOOK WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. Whether you liked it or not, you will be so surprised and in complete shock. Don’t even fight it or lie about it. You will be.
And to the people writing SPOILER reviews, shame on you. BAD BAD.

im sad for giving 3-stars to this book.
the reason why i gave that it's beacause i felt lost after reading it. we didn't make any connection.

Okay...that was one surprising story. This book was absolutely nothing like I expected, and nothing like Mia Sheridan's other novels. Midnight Lily is much darker and more mysterious than the other books in this series. I'm glad to say that I really enjoyed how this book was so different and unique and nothing like I was expecting. Midnight Lily was haunting, emotional and had some major twists...and I mean major, blow your mind, I'd never see that coming twists.

My favourite part of this novel, other than the twist, was the character development. The characters went through some pretty major changes throughout the story and I was constantly questioning who they were. At the beginning, Lily seemed so innocent but towards the end of the novel she seemed very wise and sensible. The hero went through major changes as well and changed form an unstable addict, to a very deeply emotional person. I didn't so much like the earlier versions of the characters but as the book progressed I grew to really like them and feel hopeful for their stories.

My only major fault for the novel was the ending. I mean, I really hated the ending. I do admit that it was unique and original but honestly, I found it unbelievable and kind of annoying. I don't want to spoil things for anyone so I won't go into details but basically the ending is another major twist that questions the whole foundation of the story. Usually, I like this sort of ending but in this case I found that it took away from the believability of the book. The mental illness aspect of the story was good all the way through the book and was believable until the ending. I mean, for the people who have read the book, just think about this happening in real life. It would never happen unless someone was really, really unbelievably sick. And in that case, the said person wouldn't be able to also live a normal life.To be honest, the ending did take a big toll one my overall opinion of the book which is quite dissapointing because I really enjoyed most for the novel.

2.5 Stars!

“We will never be perfect or without flaws, the lives we've been given are not like that. But, Lily, in my heart, you are perfect for me. Perfectly mine.”

I've enjoyed EVERY book I've read from Mia Sheridan. And I'm sorry to say that I did not enjoy Midnight Lily as much. Part of her Sign of Love series based on the 12 astrological signs, Midnight Lily centers around the sign Virgo. And it takes us for one hell of a ride.

Holden Scott is the football player that everyone loves. He's got girls fawning over him, money, and he's on top of the world. But after a tragic accident, things start to take a downward spiral. Lily is the ghost of the woods. She watched him from afar as Holden comes to a mansion-like cabin in the woods to recuperate. Long story short, they're attracted to each other and end up falling in love. I can't say too much without spoiling the whole story. But I will say this: talk about major WTF??!!

The beginning of the book starts of a bit slow. We get to know Holden and get a fuzzy background on why he's at the cabin to begin with. As you read more of the chapters in Holden's POV, you begin to wonder if he is a reliable narrator. Lily is a mystery that one cannot solve until the last 20% of the book. And for that reason I can't talk about her character too much without crossing into spoiler territory.

As I was moving along in the story, I was starting to get bored with Holden's and Lily's relationship. What made them special? Mia major trauma or life changing moment did they have? Mia Sheridan's characters never have an easy life. From Archer, to Leo, to Eden, to Annalia, each of these former characters and their love interests have been through some serious stuff in their life. Things that push them to be the person that we, as readers, fall in love with. And I didn't get any of that with Holden and Lily. I didn't care for them much. They lacked depth in the beginning, and that might've been done on purpose on Mia's part. Because once you get the freaking plot twist, all bets are off!

I literally did a double take while reading. I had to stop and ask myself, "what?"
Spoilerso Holden has been dead this whole time and the person that Lily is interacting with is actually Holden's BFF Ryan who dissociated himself mentally after Holden died and became Holden...mentally...? Huh?
It was honestly weird and a bit confusing, but it got interesting.

After that twist, I just wanted to finish the book. I wanted to hurry up and see how this would all wrap up. And I can't say that I'm happy about it.

I love Mia Sheridan's writing, but Midnight Lily was not her best.

Holly mother of mindfuc%

Wow I really wasn't expecting that. At 54% my jaw dropped and I'm pretty sure is still on the floor and is going to take a while for me to pick it up.

What a story WOW I'm so glad I went in blind I didn't read the blurb or any reviews and honestly is the best way to read it.

I'm trying to come up with words for this review but my mind is still trying to organize some thoughts of what I just read... Loved it!!!!
