This is going to be the shortest review simply because there isn't a whole lot that I can say without giving too much away.
I can't tell you about the characters, who I loved. I refuse to tell you any of the plot, it's brilliant. And I don't really even want to tell you how it made me feel, I felt ALL of the things. This is just simply one of those books that you have to go into completely blind in order to fully appreciate the story in all of its wonder.
This book was such a surprise but nothing short of the brilliance and beauty I've come to expect from Mia Sheridan. I'm left both impressed and scared of her ability to write this story in such an amazing and clear way. I know that I'll be thinking of this story and these characters for days, weeks, possibly months and can't wait to see how other readers react to it. So GO. PRE-ORDER IT. NOW. And then when you read it come and message me so we can talk about it!!!

*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review

Listen.. I don't know what just happened here, but I know that I am rethinking the whole entire book. From the start. Because I am just like, WHAT?
The first half of the book moved slow for me, it was depressing too, so I had to take a break. I dove back in this morning because everyone said the twist was just fantastic so I knew I had to finish. The twist was like nothing I have ever read before. I thought I knew what was happening and thought I knew the outcome 4 different times, I was wrong, on all of them.

I enjoyed this book and kept going because I really wanted to be Wowed. I was Wowed with the twist and definitely am left questioning everything I read, but I also felt like it moved slow for me. I am leaving this review SUPER VAGUE because you need to go in blind. I did, and I am happy about that.

Let me first start off by saying that no review could do this book justice. I also don't want to take any chances to ruin anything about this book for you. Midnight Lily was not what I expected at all, but in a good way. Just as you think you are starting to understand something, Bam! there is a twist that leaves you hanging up until the very end where you are questioning what the hell just happened.

Mia Sheridan has a way with words and with each book she writes, she weaves the reader into the story. It is so beautifully written that each and every one of her books stays with you long after you have read it, and Midnight Lily is no exception to that.

It pains me to leave this rating and review, considering this author has written some stunning books that I love. However, I need to be true to my experience and emotions coming out of this listen. I cannot sugar-coat this, I did not enjoy this book at all. I felt utterly disconnected from the MCs whilst not believing their quick connection to one another.

I cannot say too much without spoiling but I finished the book awfully confused and with many questions about what did and didn't happen. I joined the discussion group for the book looking for answers and found the authors timeline of events, much of which wasn't narrated through the story. No wonder I was confused, how can I know what is happening if it's only subtly suggested or never even mentioned? I enjoy a story with mystery and ambiguity, it isn't necessary for everything to be laid out, however too many jigsaw pieces were missing and I feel let down by that.

I want to finish by saying I know how well this author writes and this book does not colour my future intentions regarding her other books. I will continue to read and hopefully enjoy more of her work.

I really like Mia Sheridan's books. There was bound to be a dud at some point. I strongly suggest you skip this book and read one of her others.

I have no words to describe how this book made me feel,

like I got super invested, suuuuuuuper invested. In between classes and work and a doctor’s appointment I just could not stop reading!

This was beautifully written, my inner hopeless romantic dying every.single.time with them. I understand some people did not feel the connection to the characters but I did, I felt their pain and their sadness and their happiness and their love and it was all thanks to how the author wrote them.

Definitely one of my favorites I’ve read this year!

Mia Sheridan is an automatic one-click author for me! She writes fresh, unique stories that suck you in right away and hold your interest throughout. Her books are beautifully written and make me think. She has done it again with Midnight Lily. I loved getting both POVs. I enjoyed the intrigue and the mystery. I wasn't sure what was going to happen or how it was going to end. I was caught off guard by some of the twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Loved it!

i didn't expect any of THIS
i'm in shock

Ugh what a frustrating book. I normally really like this author but this is a big change from her usual writing. I speed-read parts as I tried to grasp what was going on. I feel like I was on another planet trying to sort of reality. I wouldn’t recommend this book unless you’re ready to be scratching your head in confusion throughout and after. Weird, weird, weird.

amazing twist at the 50% mark

but then, i started getting confused
