[REVIEW COMING SOON]
The writing of this book was good for the first half of it. I was intrigued and the characters kept me hooked. There were a lot of twist that kept me reading but that ending was a cluster fuck. I'm still scratching my head and don't get what happened? I'm fine with open ended books and books were the story line focuses on depression and mental illness but this book didn't answer even the most basic questions a reader has. I don't know what the hell I just read because of that ending. Like what the fuck?
Was the whole story imagined? Where anyone but Ryan and Lily real? Were they ghost? What the fuck!?

**SPOILER ALERT**
Okay now I'm super confused. So the whole book, the whole story, is in Lily and Ryan's head? They lived in that mental hospital or what? And all the people in this story are fiction, just in their head? Someone please help me understand this. But even though I don't really understand it, I still love Mia's writing style, and how she describes everything so beautifully.

I really loved the conversation that was happening with mental illness for the majority of this book. Sadly, I feel like the ending soured a lot of the good work that this novel was doing.
That said, I really like how the relationship between Holden and Lily was developing for the majority of the novel as well. It definitely has a manic pixie dream girl feel to it as well.

Simplified review: Another amazing book by Mia Sheridan. A crazy ride for your heart and mind where you just need to jump in and let it take you.
Long review: I feel the need to start by saying, I LOVE books that keep me on my toes and get me thinking and plotting. This one takes this to another level. Midnight Lily was a crazy, amazing ride. It had me constantly guessing, laughing, crying, and swooning. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, a plot twist came and changed the whole game around.
The ending was the greatest twist of all, but here's the thing. Even though I felt unclear about some minor points that seem unexplained, the feeling as whole this book gave me compensates for that.
I loved this crazy, amazing book.

4.5 stars
A devastatingly haunting story about two young people who were so lost inside themselves until they discovered the key to being found, each other. This book made these feelings reach deep into your soul and scare you. That is why it's so haunting.
Full review to come.
I received an ARC.

It pains me to leave this rating and review, considering this author has written some stunning books that I love. However, I need to be true to my experience and emotions coming out of this listen. I cannot sugar-coat this, I did not enjoy this book at all. I felt utterly disconnected from the MCs whilst not believing their quick connection to one another.
I cannot say too much without spoiling but I finished the book awfully confused and with many questions about what did and didn't happen. I joined the discussion group for the book looking for answers and found the authors timeline of events, much of which wasn't narrated through the story. No wonder I was confused, how can I know what is happening if it's only subtly suggested or never even mentioned? I enjoy a story with mystery and ambiguity, it isn't necessary for everything to be laid out, however too many jigsaw pieces were missing and I feel let down by that.
I want to finish by saying I know how well this author writes and this book does not colour my future intentions regarding her other books. I will continue to read and hopefully enjoy more of her work.

...I just don't know what to say...I enjoyed reading this book...it was a sweet story and I honestly didn't see the twists coming..however I never felt as if I really connected with the characters. I've loved some of Mia Sheridan's books before and this one just wasn't my cup of tea.
I love this author and I'll read everything she writes, and tell everyone I know to read her too. That being said, while the writing was beautiful, I was glued to the book and didn't even stop for a break while reading, I'm left feeling really confused. I think I may have missed something.
