True be told , I don’t know what I read . wtf if this , they were both crazy

What. Did. I. Just. Read? This book is the definition of a beautiful, incredible mindfuck and I loved it. All I can say is, I never even imagined those twists coming. INCREDIBLE

Audiobook Review:

Although this wasn’t my favorite Mia Sheridan book, I can absolutely appreciate the twists that I was not expecting AT ALL. I think it takes true talent to throw a completely unexpected curveball, and that’s Mia and this book.

I didn’t like the male narrator very much. Since the fist part of this book is mainly internal dialogue of the main male character, he just sounded whiny and it was a little hard to get through.

I’m happy to have listened to this book! I can confidently say Mia is my favorite author!

Wow. Just finished & I feel like I need to reread it. This one will have to marinate for awhile.

3.5 stars

Midnight Lily started out as a really strong 4.5 star read for me. I loved Holden’s struggle, the mystery surrounding Lily, and the way her love gave him the motivation to heal. Somewhere around the 70% mark though, the story seems to lose its way. I couldn’t validate Lily’s actions and her grandmother is a constant irritant. Some of the dialogue between Lily and Holden also becomes rather trite. Having two sympathetic protagonists you can root for is a huge plus though, and the twists and unique plot definitely sucked me in. It’s a bit of a mindf@ck, but I was fairly satisfied with the conclusion – until the epilogue. Maybe I’m just too dense, but the epilogue was odd, confusing, and left me with too much of a

feeling.

While Midnight Lily isn’t my favorite book by Mia Sheridan, I respect her creativity and I’m sure the story will resonate with many readers.

4 confusing stars

What the hell was that? What the hell did I read? Just when I thought I had a firm grasp of the story, I got confused, again. Yet despite my confusion, I did understand the mcs' love for each other.

Eta: I needed a lot of help to understand this story. And after getting my answers, I now see the brilliance and beauty of this story.

I don't know exactly how much I can say without giving things away. That is the last thing I want to do because you need to experience everything as you read. I loved this story, and Mia did yet another incredible job with this one. This was definitely haunting and different from the other Signs of Love books. But it's just as good, just in a different way.

These characters are special and I loved all of them. The story as it progressed, I fell in love. Then the twist and I have to admit I was floored and extremely confused for a bit. But then once I had a chance to really let it sink in, I continued to fall in love. Just in a different way. I have to admit, the ending left me a bit confused because I have to figure what I think happens next instead of it being simply laid out for me. But I don't think that's a bad thing, but it was a different feeling to deal with.

But there was just something to inviting about this story because it's made clear both characters have their struggles and yet they still try to be better for each other. They both understand each other to a degree that is extremely difficult to find and I think that just makes everything more pure. It's really captivating and I didn't know what to expect with this story but it was magnificent.

Sadly this one didn't work for me. At the end I almost feel like both characters still need to get help and I didn't feel any connection between them at all. Bc here were to think one thing and 1/2 way through we get slammed with something else and basically everything in the 1st part feels like it's thrown out window. So im sure that's why I feel so disconnected.

Huh. That was one of the stranger books I've read in this genre and within Mia's collection. That's not to say I didn't like it, but I'm not exactly sure quite what to make of it in the end. The epilogue especially left me confused. I don't think it's quite drawn me in the same way other books in the series did. I had to read an explanation from her after I finished to really understand what was going on and for that reason, I had to knock down my rating a bit. I feel like a book should stand on its own without needing additional summaries or explanations.

It was beautifully written overall and Mia, as usual, crafted lovely characters and shed some light into meaningful topics that affect us as a society. (In this case, without spoiling anything, mental illness.)

I recommend it if you're a fan of Mia's and this series, but it may be a bit of a strange read for you as well.
