this was such an intelligent read and an interesting spin on magic systems. i tried to start this so many times but admittedly couldn’t get through the beginning without losing interest, but i pushed through for a book club and i'm so glad i did! i didn't expect to but fell in love with our morally grey protagonists - libby especially, since i felt for and related to her struggles. they were all well written and i enjoyed reading all of their POVs and trying to understand their motives.

unrelated, but my only regret is not picking up the first edition of this book because i like the cover a lot more....

I think this was on my TBR list for so long that it ultimately just didn’t live up to the hype. The trouble with six POVs is that we end up learning about/caring about each character too little. That said, the vibes of this book are immaculate and I’m still going to read the next one.

Loved this. But man I needed my brain to be switched on for this.
There is so much happening with so many characters it was hard to keep track for me sometimes. But I loved it anyways
Tristan is my fave character so far!
