Compilation of many short stories, some belongs to author's books, but with a different ending, which made it very interesting!

I have read most of these stories before in the other collection "Short Shockers". I liked all the stories. Most of these are supernatural out of which he claims some to be true stories, but I don’t believe him.
Some stories are extremely short (5-6 sentences)

My favourites from this collection - Sun over the yardarm, crossed lines, Art class

I rarely read short stories but I'm familiar with Peter James so thought that I would enjoy this collection. However, even though I did enjoy the ones that features Roy Grace and the ghost stories I felt disappointed by the rest of them. My immediate thoughts were that he was trying to recreate Tales of the Unexpected by Roald Dahl but for me they were not as good. I persevered because of the ones that I did like but in future I will stick with the Roy Grace novels.

It's actually hilarious how bad this book is. Every story seems like a twelve-year-old came up with the plot.

A terrifyingly fantastic collection of short stories demonstrates James' abilities as an author to not only write rich, expansive series like the Roy Grace series, but to also tell small stories of an equally gripping and tantalising nature.

I especially loved discovering that the first ever Roy Grace novel started off as a short story with a grisly ending, and also love the edition of two real-life stories.

All in all, I love re-reading this book around the Halloween season, and when camping with friends each year in the woods, the collection is spine-chillingly brilliant!
