Good story lines that went nowhere. If you like to imagine your own endings this is the book to read :(

This book definitely didn't grab me like I thought it would. I like the idea behind it, but I just didn't empathize or identify with any of the characters. I'm sorry I wasted my money on this rather than getting it from the library. Resale, here it comes.

Slow read. Definitely very character driven and explored the ups and downs of families. It would be for someone just not for me.

I expected something a little less depressing. Too much arguing and being mean to each other. I pictured a summer vacation at a beach house a little more happy.

I wanted to smack a few of these characters. Great family saga though.

DUDE. What a long book! And what terrible unlikeable characters!! They're either so mean you can hardly stand them or total doormats!! I enjoyed some of the historical references to WW2, etc. but that was about it. And after all that, the ending was abrupt and unsatisfying.

Makes you think about family relationships and summer traditions... Some plot lines could have been better developed
