A fun story about beauty and how we treat others. All of the singing and lyrics did go a bit overboard, but some were really sweet.

I raelly like the book, but I could not pronounce most of the names!! I like to be able to say the names so this was odd for me. I wish there had been simpler names but over all I really liked it! :)

Well. There, as usual, was a lot of potential in this book. I just, Aza was not nearly as compelling of a character as most of Gail Carson Levine's protagonists are. The development of the Ayorthian world that was first expressed in "Ella Enchanted" was appreciated, but otherwise the story felt a little flat. It was an interesting commentary on the role of beauty, etc, etc, but outside of that, I'm a little disappointed. At the very least, it was a quick read (although the inclusion of SO MANY song lyrics without any real sense of how they would sound was a little frustrating). Overall, I'm going with a resounding "Meh..."

It was a quick, fun read. Not great literature, not something I'd want to read again, but it had me squeezing a couple of pages in when I could around other things because I wanted to keep going with the story.

The only thing I didn't like about this book was that I thought the singing went a little overboard. But if you replace "he/she sang..." for "he/she said..." It really is a great book. Of her books that I've read, My favorites are (in order): 1. Ella Enchanted, 2. Two Princesses of Bamarre, 3. Fairest.
