4 stars because I have been on a DNF slump and this is the first book I've enjoyed and finished in a LONG time!

The

part at the beginning was a bit tricky, but I liked how it was handled and I LOVED the heroine xD I found her funny and realistic. So many times in romance novels the train of thought is so... out there that I can't stand it. And I didn't feel it with this one.

It goes without stating that this book’s premise is wrong on so many levels... in the real world. But in fiction? It turns into a funny, insightful and scorching hot exploration of two characters who somehow manage to make their relationship work despite the fucked up decisions that brought them together in the first place.

I loved the author’s writing style. Very clever use of words for descriptions in many places, and character voices and observations that really fit their personalities. Will definitely read more from her.

Hoped for more from this book based on the premise, I just felt icky after reading it. The dubious consent and power dynamics was just wrong and the ending wasn’t at all believable. Steamy scenes for sure but didn’t make up for the problematic elements. Unfortunate because the gritty feel of how the author describes the scenery/setting/characters was captivating, it felt different than a lot of other books. but Bill can’t be redeemed in my eyes

Starts filthy, ends fluffy. Entertaining & fanny fluttering.
