This was such a weird, fun read. Rhiannon is bad but in a way you can’t help but find kinda great and the voice of the whole thing is so engaging I read it in a couple of days.

this was an impulsive purchase from the works because it was £3 and honestly surprised me with how entertaining it was. VERY explicit in a lot of area and way too much weird sex stuff for my taste but the rest of the story made up for it

Just got tired of the story and wasn’t picking it up enough.

Well that was dark! Similar in style to a couple of more recent books I have read (How to Kill your family/how to kill men and get away with it), and initially I wasn't as big a fan of the writing in this one. I feel some things went a little far for my taste, and there is A LOT of sex - not necessarily a bad thing, just unexpected.

It is darkly funny, you feel terrible for laughing. I think it depends what order you read the similar books in to be honest, as you can't help but compare.

There are some very unexpected twists and turns which I loved, my mouth hit the floor on occasion. By the end I was hooked and will read the rest of the series.

The narrator is perfect, so I will stick to audio for the rest of the series too.

This was a lot of fun.

If you liked how to kill your family, give this a go as I think it’s better. It’s certainly darker.

It definitely does feel like Bridget Jones’ serial killer diary. I’m looking forward to reading the sequel.

I’ve just done the CN notes and honestly it would be quicker to list what Sweetpea doesn’t include. But for all that it’s a brutally funny and page-turning take on Bridget Jones-meets-American Psycho.

This didn't really work for me. I suppose I went into it expecting a female-murderer version of the tv show 'You' and it wasn't quite there.

I don't have to find characters likeable to enjoy them, but the narration is set up as Rhiannon's diary entries and mostly she complains about every aspect of her life, and is crude while doing it. There were some glimpses of interesting possible mysteries about her past and relationships with family, but those were all resolved rather quickly or ignored in favour of featuring her complaints.

There were two moments in the book when I found myself chuckling at Rhiannon's inner monologue, but for the most part I powered through her whining and ill thought out thrills hoping there would be something of substance near the end. Alas, there was not.

I likely won't be picking up the next one.
