The story is 4.5-5 stars, but the writing is pretty horrible. It needs a MAJOR editing overhaul. Names spelled wrong (Jonas = Joans, Sophia = Sohpia), incorrect, missing, or misspelled words in sentences, etc. Thankfully, the story itself kept me interested enough to keep going and look past the mistakes.
That aside, you learn pretty quickly that the first couple of guys we're introduced to with their POV chapters are definitely perverse. If you're looking for something that's light and fluffy, that has characters who are gentlemen, back out of this, and find something else. There's lots of dub-con, borderline non-con, degrading talk, stalking, etc. The men who fall for the FMC are obsessed and deranged.
This book is on the darker side. There's attempted murder, death, death, and more death. Oh, and maybe a bit more death.
** MINOR SPOILER / POSSIBLE TRIGGER**
Also, heads up, there's KIND of cheating in this. In the words of Ross, "They were on a break." But one of the MCs does sleep with another woman after being in a relationship with the FMC. Though, our FMC kind of started it.
I also really like how the author gives some of the "bad guys" a POV. It gives us a look into their life and makes us understand their side of things, as sad as it may be to read.

This read very young. Not sure if this was edited but 5 times in the first 24% sentences were repeated and I just couldn't handle it anymore.

This is a cliffhanger but one I’m here for. This is a why choose romance with a FMC that has a ton of trauma and wants revenge. She returns to the scene of the crime her school and discovers that there is much more the Syndicate and people close to her are involved.

This masterpiece truly blew my mind! When I thought I had figured out where the characters were headed, they took me on a surprising twist. Ruby can absolutely hold her own and even surpass K.G. Reuss. The way she brings her characters to life and allows readers to feel what they’re experiencing is phenomenal. And let’s not forget that cliffhanger ending—I’m still holding out hope for that character! I first came across a TikTok showcasing that Raven Monroe was self-mute, and that instantly sparked my interest. Before everything goes awry, we get a glimpse into her life, which adds significant depth to her character.
The prologue was a bit tough to read, but it was so well-written that I couldn’t help but want to dive deeper into her story! I found myself completely unable to put the book down, and I’ve annotated it as if it’s my new favorite thing. Our three main characters—Maverick, Damon, and Jonas—are each wonderful in their own way. They all hold a special place in my heart, but if I had to choose, I would lean toward Jonas. He really gets down to the nitty-gritty! 😏
If you’ve made it this far, you’re awesome! Treat yourself to a cookie because you deserve it! This delightful adventure was something I didn’t know I needed, and I can’t wait to see what Ruby has in store for us next!
