I was honestly very determined to not give this trilogy another chance, but my "fomo" would not allow me and I'm very gals! It was definitely the best book e, even tho it looks like and easy to read romance, that not exactly how it goes. Family drama and weird dynamicsare very notorious and they make the reader hurt, a LOT. The romance is not the main focus of the book but it is has an important role in Anna's mental health and stability, which is portrayedin a realistic without being too heavy. Once more, the main character is autistic and the diagnosis arises in a very difficult period of her life, in which everything changes. I really enjoyed the book, being one of my favourite romance reads of this year. It's a great recommendation for anyone looking for a different romance and it's good that the trilogy does not have a strong bond in between books, making it possible to read this one without reading the previous ones.

This was absolutely spectacular.
This is not a traditional love story. I thought this was going in one direction and then it went completely the opposite way and I appreciated it even more. This does read more like a women's fiction to me because the romantic relationship is not at the forefront for most of the story. The heroine's journey to self-discovery and both their journeys to self-healing and love is what was prevalent.

Learning to love oneself and knowing what you are capable of bringing to a relationship was a strong theme in this story. Both characters are broken people who believe they are not good enough and seeing them discover who they truly are whilst being with each other was beautiful to read.

Whilst reading, I kept thinking how this read so personal. I couldn't shake the feeling that some of the emotions were based on true worries, anguish and hurt and then I read the author's note and it all made sense.

The third book in The Kiss Quotient series was a different spin and focused on more serious life events. There was so much character development for Anna as she discovered her own diagnosis. I loved this writing style and will keep my eyes out for more Helen Hoang books.

Was still good, but didn’t make me giggle and gasp like the bride test. I also wished they talked more about Quans story. He was so understanding of Anna and she back. I like how they complimented each other.

I will say that this book had more sad undertones than the other two books. It made me rlly sad but also frustrated about how Anna couldn’t say no and let otherwise dictate her life. And how she didn’t think she deserved to be happy. Her anxiety stressed me out man!

Alright, it’s time for me to admit that I am wrong. My update when I was 73% in was,,, harsh to say the least; That I already know what I will be rating it based on pure judgement but turns out, I am 100% on the wrong and I feel bad for doubting Helen Hoang.

This book…. It emanates a different feel from her two previous books. This one from the get go felt more intimate, more detailed in terms of emotions and experiences. In the end it was clear why it felt like this, it’s because this book is somehow a memoir of Helen’s experience in life. It’s her way of putting herself out there, given that she’s using first person in this book instead of third person.

I’m speechless. I know I hated some parts of the book mainly because I don’t understand why the protagonist is acting that way, but that’s exactly how society is when it comes to behaviors that usually don’t match ours. It’s easier to judge, but it’s hardest to be an empath nowadays.

Seeing how tough love plays in families and how it affects the members of it, it’s such a shame we sometimes feel the need to be assertive and less compassionate when calling out wrongs. We often times feel like our narrative is better, more correct, more reasonable but what we fail to see is how our narrative doesn’t always mean it’s the best for all. We are well aware of this, but we should always remind ourselves to be kind. Not only to other people, but most importantly, to ourselves as well.

Praises and many more for Helen Hoang! This book journey is a good one. I can’t promise I’ll be embarking on re-reading this trilogy again but I know it will definitely have a place in my heart. Her books will remain a comforting lullaby, a breath of fresh air and a companion who would surely listen when no one would. Only a great author can write a book as comforting and as alive as this trilogy!

P.S - so many awesome quotes in this book! A physical copy is a MUST for annotations!

“I’ve tucked his I love you in my heart, where I can carry it forever, safe and treasured”

AND

“The only good thing this broken heart of mine can feel is love for you”
