I have had this book on my TBR for at least a year, but it was a friend at knitting group yesterday who prodded me into actually getting and reading it. I read it in one sitting. It's amazing. I adore romances and it hits every single one of those buttons while also being filled with knitter and spinner porn. There's a scene with boxes of flyers that had me fanning myself. So maybe part of that was my apartment's lack of air conditioning, but not all of it! I've read more than one book that tries to shoehorn in knitting. This is not one of those books. The fibre love unwinds just as naturally as the love story. On an entirely different note, I love how it handles her ex. Oh! And it ends with a pattern. Could this get better? I don't know. It's 8:30 on a Sunday night and I am about to start a new book, even though it's time for Preacher. Seriously, even if you are not a knitter, but this book.

Cute story about two people matched together after their friend and relation dies and leaves each of them part of her estate on the Central Coast of CA.

Abigail met the most famous knitter ever (clearly based on Elizabeth Zimmerman), and when Eliza died, she left Abigail the makings of a yarn store.  Meanwhile her nephew Cade has been raising sheep on the rest of the property and doesn't appreciate having to share with a stranger.

They get to know each other while Abigail sets up her shop. She had left San Diego after being stalked by a former boyfriend and a few questionable things happen while on the ranch.  This love story is a bit cliche, but still enjoyable. And there is knitting, sheep and alpacas!

Very enjoyable

It is your standard love story with lots of knitting and spinning references. I really enjoyed all of it. Especially since I am an avid knitter.

In surprisingly typical fashion for me, I've read the first entry to this series of knitting-themed chic-lit last. It's also taken me 10 years, as Goodreads tells me that I started it with book two in 2013. In that time, this book has had three different titles, more covers than I can count (both factors made me very confused about which in the series I'd read and which I hadn't) and gone from traditionally published to self-published. Which probably says quite a lot about the state of the publishing industry over the last ten years. Anyways....

Although it's been a while since I read any of this series, it didn't feel like the strongest entry. Some of the Hero's motivations didn't stand up to very close scrutiny, and the end third was very telenovela in level of drama. But, the knitting aspects were very well thought out and enjoyable, and I enjoyed how the heroine stuck to her guns in life.

I really enjoyed this book, but make no mistake...it's a Harlequin Romance, with sticks and string.

I would still like to pick up the second one, though.

There are good romance novels and bad romance novels. This is a good romance novel. Although you are smacking your head at some of the decisions made by the characters at times, they are not acting in totally and unbelievably stupid ways. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait for the next installment! My only question is: Rachel, why did you have to kill that sheep?!

My review and rating for this book is really just a personal opinion and not because the writing was awful or the story was terrible. I just feel like it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I was initially drawn in by the version of the cover that is sky blue with a heart drawn out of red yarn. It was simple and eye catching and went well with the title. I'm a crafter and I crochet, so knitting and yarn didn't scare me off. But in reading the story, I felt like it was geared toward people of an older generation. I feel like this is a romance story my mom or grandma would have read and enjoyed. A lot of it just felt cheesy and toned down. I also felt like the progression of the relationship was off. You could tell where it was going, but I feel like some of it felt rushed and some of it dragged on. The pacing was just weird to me, and the timing of some of the romantic parts happened at the most awkward or completely wrong times, in my opinion. There were also some unbelievable occurrences that just didn't strike me as plauisible or realistic, given the circumstances of the female main character. Why did I finish reading it? Because I hate to not finish a book I've started. Something really awful has to happen for me to quit. This didn't have anything in it that was truly *that* bad. I can see why some people would love this story. I just think it wasn't the best for me personally.

Didn't finish the book. Trashy romance. Why would you ever seduce someone you hate? Oh, right, he's dreamy.

Enjoyed this book. As romances go, it was fairly predictable which is okay. Things i enjoyed was it involved knitting. (Even comes with a free pattern) and the author interested me enough to go look at her blog. Herron is involved with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and organization dedicated to encouraging young authors. ( and old ones too-)
Back to the novel- Abigail and Cade are likable their attraction to each other is based more on the physical than the personal but that shifts. There is an intriguing added feature that I won’t spoil but it sure kept me reading faster and faster to see what would happen!!
And there is a dog. So read this and enjoy. It’s on Libby and Hoopla too

This was so good! I love a good romance, and this checked all the boxes. Great characters and great story. Can’t wait to read more in the series.
