I don't always love books with separate stories that intersect/converge. But I loved this one. It was an interesting glimpse into African-British culture, for one thing. But mostly I think it was that each story stood so well on its own. And also that the intersections showed over and over how none of us knows the full story of the people with whom we walk in this world.
This book is literally one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. It fully exceeded my expectations and often shocked me with where the story went next. I think it’s an excellent illustration of womanhood. This is one of those books where the POV switches between characters. The first few chapters are a little hard to understand until you start getting the characters. I had to go back and skim them to understand the roots but it wasn’t disruptive to my reading. I like can’t even put into words how much I loved this book. Add this to your TBR immediately!!

(4.5) this book is so incredible and poetic!!! highly recommend, my only complaint is that i wish the stories had all been woven together a bit more at the end, but i still enjoyed the separate strands
I rarely give five stars, but I really liked this book- characters, story, writing... It was really humaine, funny, eye-opening. Loved it!
Long book but worth sticking with until the end when all the individual stories become connected and intertwined with a sense of completion.
Girl, Woman, Other is just as good as the thousands of reviews say. Read it, please.
