I love crying

I really wanted to & expected to like this book. However I struggled with how it’s written (the lack of punctuation & random page breaks and indentation) & really struggled to get into it.
Whilst I didn’t enjoy it as much as I anticipated, I can appreciate it. It had its great bits: the story & how each character is woven together is wonderful, the distinction between the voices of the characters was really believable but for some reason I had to work really hard at getting through it. I’m gutted.

A really complex web of characters that are as flawed as real life people, but just as endearing as those in real life. It was so refreshing to have a narrative composed of women's lives and how they impact one another despite a vast range of differences. If you have been looking for a reason to pick this up, this is it! There is a reason why this isn't a 5 star book for me and it is because I would have preferred more plot to this, but that is a very minor thing and is simply because I like plot more than I like characters.

I really loved the writing and how many emotions the author is able to elicit in the reader. My favourite character was the daughter of the woman who wrote the play that everyone watches. My only problem with the novel was that there were too many characters to connect with every individual storyline, which is why I forgot my favourite character's name. But it is still fascinating to read how all of their lives are intertwined and how differently they viewed certain situations.
